We are continuing the “future-ing” project begun last year by the Associate Editors of Water Resources IMPACT with a list of ten water resources concerns they perceived to be significant in the next decade. For the issues published this year, we have enlisted a panel of authorities to share their views about water resources concerns over the next decade. We have left the question open, although we did share the Associate Editors’ list as published in the November 2007 issue of IMPACT, otherwise our authorities are free to react to the question as they wish. The authorities, in the order we will seethem published are listed below.

Gerald E. Galloway
AWRA Immediate Past President, Glenn L Martin Institute Professor of Engineering, University of Maryland;
Jane O. Rowan
AWRA President, Professional Wetland Scientist, Senior Associate Scientist, Schnabel Engineering
Sandra Postel
Founder, Global Water Policy Project
Jerry Selhke
AWRA President-Elect, Advisory Engineer, Ecological and Cultural Resources Department, Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Lab
Robert Hirsch
Associate Director for Water, U.S. Geological Survey
Jerry Delli Priscolli
Editor-in-Chief “Water Policy” Journal of the World Water Council
Timothy Smith
Coordinator, Sustainable Water Resources Roundtable
Peter Black
Emeritus Professor, College of Environmental Science and Forestry – SUNY; President-Emeritus AWRA
Peter Gleick
Co-Founder and President, Pacific Institute for Studies in Development, Environment, and Security

As this year progresses, please send any reactions or comments you may have to me (espangen@uwsp.edu), or post them on the AWRA Water Blog. Remember, as well, that all during 2009, we will be running an electronic survey on water resources concerns for the next decade for all AWRA members. Please make sure you take part in the survey.

Our inaugural essay is from Gerald E. Galloway, AWRA Immediate Past President and Glenn L. Martin Institute Professor of Engineering at the University of Maryland.

hi! its better for such works in u’r country. but as a part of the global issues it would be a better part if such thinkings are innovated in other parts preferably the developing and under developed countries will be more useful.
