I’m late posting this because last night I watched the Motor City Kitties – aka Detroit Tigers – whup myNew York Yankees 3-2 in Yankee Stadium and send the Yanks back to the golf courses till next year. The Bronx Bombers were anything but, going 2-9 with runners in scoring position, stranding ten baserunners, and going 0-4 with the bases loaded. The ‘Quarter Billion Dollar Man’, Alex Rodriguez, struck out with one out and the bases loaded, and Nick Swisher followed after one more batter later with another bases loaded whiff. Fittingly, A-Rod struck out to end the game.
Gotta give the Kitties credit, though. They were clutch and the Yanks weren’t. I can hear the Boston guffaws.
So here’s the water news, as filtered through yours truly.
